AWS Data Engineer Contract

Salary/Day Rate: $1050 – $1150 per day: Senior AWS Data Engineer – Top ASX Listed Company – Multi Year Program – Flexible working environment –

Role Description

An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Data Engineer, to join a Top ASX-Listed Company, with proven capability in source-to-target data mapping, ETL design, and cloud-based pipeline development. This is an initial 3 month contract that offers flexible working arrangements, operating on a hybrid model with a mix of office and remote work to support work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and optimise scalable AWS Glue (PySpark) pipelines for structured and semi-structured data sources

Deliver clear and accurate source-to-target mappings and integration specifications across complex datasets

Ingest and transform data from multiple systems into S3, Elastic, and downstream platforms

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, business SMEs, and ETL/BI developers

Ensure pipelines are production-grade, fault-tolerant, and aligned to data governance and security standards

Key Skills & Experience:

5+ years of Data Engineering experience in enterprise environments

Strong hands-on expertise in AWS Glue (PySpark) and AWS native services (e.g. S3, Lambda, Athena, Step Functions)

Practical experience integrating with Elastic/Elasticsearch for data indexing and retrieval

Deep understanding of ETL/ELT design patterns, CDC, and data modelling

Solid grasp of source-to-target mapping principles and best practices

Strong SQL and Python skills
