Data Migration Lead Contract

Day Rate: $1100-$1200 per day – Enterprise Data Migration Project – Multi Year Program – Healthcare and Financial Services Domain

Role Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Data Migration Lead, to join a Top ASX Listed Global Company to work on a high-impact transformation program. This role will suit someone with a strong track record of leading data migration initiatives, particularly where multiple legacy systems need to be consolidated into a modern platform under tight timeframes. It is not a hands-on development role but one that requires oversight, coordination, and strategic insight to guide delivery teams and ensure business outcomes are met. This is a contract role offering hybrid work arrangements, 2 days per week in the office) and the opportunity to shape the success of a business-critical data migration stream.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the execution of the data migration workstream within a wider transformation program

Develop and manage the migration strategy across source systems and target platforms

Work with technical teams to ensure data is extracted, staged, and transformed in alignment with business rules and project timelines

Provide oversight of data readiness for go-live, including quality assurance and reconciliation activities

Collaborate with business stakeholders and integration teams to define mapping specifications and transformation logic

Monitor progress, identify risks, and ensure the migration stays on track with project outcomes

Support decision-making around what historical data can be migrated within constrained windows

Contribute to governance, planning, and documentation related to the data migration lifecycle

About You

Proven experience as a Data Migration Lead on enterprise-scale programs

Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, including extraction, staging, transformation, validation, and loading

Experience working across multiple source systems (e.g. legacy CRMs, billing platforms, operational systems)

Ability to provide strategic input into migration planning, rather than performing the hands-on build

Comfortable liaising between technical delivery teams and non-technical business stakeholders

Familiarity with data governance, auditability, and working in regulated environments

Exceptional communication, planning, and stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable

Exposure to CRM or cloud-based platforms as a target system

Background in sectors such as Healthcare, Insurance, or Financial Services

Understanding of data compliance, privacy, and regulatory constraints

Previous involvement in projects with cutover or go-live pressure and time-boxed delivery
